Blog Theme 8 : Social media at work place.
Previously I Worked in Lexington International Preschool in
Sri Lanka. In this preschool embraced digital innovation as a cornerstone of
its educational approach. Teachers leveraged digital media seamlessly into
daily activities, enhancing the learning journey for children’s minds. Among
the inventive methods employed was dedicating time each day for children to
engage with YouTube videos tailored to bolster pronunciation skills and
language development. Whether through captivating songs, interactive phonics
lessons, or immersive language learning content, these videos nurtured
communication skills in an engaging manner.
Furthermore, the preschool fostered effective communication
and collaboration among stakeholders through dedicated WhatsApp groups. Each
class had its own space for parents and teachers to exchange updates, share
resources, and cultivate a sense of community. Additionally, a centralized
WhatsApp group for teachers streamlined academic discussions and coordination,
ensuring a cohesive and supportive environment. This digital infrastructure not
only facilitated efficient communication but also strengthened the bonds
between parents, teachers, and children.
Moreover, the preschool's commitment to accessibility and
convenience extended to the enrollment process, which was seamlessly integrated
into the official website. By digitizing the application procedure, Lexington
International Preschool prioritized transparency, and accessibility for
parents. This streamlined approach ensured that crucial information was readily
available, simplifying the enrollment journey for families. Through these
digital initiatives, the preschool created a dynamic and tech-savvy learning environment,
empowering children's development while fostering a strong partnership between
educators and parents in nurturing each child's educational journey.
The way Lexington International Preschool in Sri Lanka has embraced digital innovation to improve the learning environment for kids and parents is quite remarkable. Including YouTube videos designed to enhance language and pronunciation is an innovative and interesting strategy. It sounds like the preschool has successfully promoted language development while also increasing the enjoyment of learning through the integration of digital media into everyday activities.
